This mark is full of intention.
You might see a fiddlehead - the keiki (child) of a fern. I see the Hapuʻu and Uluhe ferns. Both of which are abundant in our Volcano National Park - a place that has held me on many walks as I dreamed of community and connected with nature (and my soul). You might also see the "Koru" - a symbol of Māori art mimicking the fiddlehead of new ferns. It symbolizes new life, growth, development and peace. The circular shape of the koru helps to convey the idea of perpetual movement while the inner coil suggests a return to the point of origin.
